I started collecting dolls in 2019 for a few different reasons. The first of these reasons was that I had begun to take a renewed interest in fashion, art, and ways of expressing myself. Dolls allowed me to express this interest on a smaller scale that required less confidence and dedication than changing my own appearance. The second reason was a little sadder. Working in tech without much social life outside of work, I was a little lonely when it came to female friends, and I found that the dolls helped me to feel a sense that I was allowed to engage in girly things despite not having any friendships where I could be around other women. It let me be silly, childish, girly, and the dolls kept me company. The loneliness increased during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns of 2020, and this was a time when I began to increase the size of my collection. The third reason was because I could afford it. Since beginning a few other hobbies, my speed of collecting dolls has decreased, but I am still steadily collecting a few dolls each year.

This page is where I will document the dolls I own. It should be possible to hober your mouse over each doll and find out the name. I don't tend to name dolls myself, so the name will be given by the creator of the doll. I am in the process of considering what to do with displaying dolls that haven't been given a name yet. In the future I would like to add more pages where I can go into more detail around the dolls and share additional images.
